Diabetic Foot Care

The right diabetic shoes can protect your feet and your independence. Getting them shouldn’t be a hassle.

At Your Health & Comfort, a certified fitter comes to you — at home, in your senior community, or at your care facility — and fits you in person.

Care That Comes to You

For someone with diabetes, a poor fit can lead to more than discomfort — it can cause blisters, sores, and serious complications.

We believe proper care deserves a proper visit. During your appointment, a certified fitter will:

  • Review your health and foot history
  • Measure both feet in person and recommend the best fit for you
  •  Account for swelling and reduced sensation, so your shoes truly protect you
  • Offer simple guidance on essential vitamins that support foot and nerve health

Does Medicare Cover Diabetic Shoes?

In most cases, yes. Medicare Part B includes a therapeutic footwear benefit that typically covers one pair of diabetic shoes and inserts each year for people who qualify.

To be eligible, you generally need:

  • A diagnosis of diabetes
  • An ongoing treatment plan with your doctor
  • At least one related foot condition, such as a history of ulcers, poor circulation, or nerve damage
  • Your doctor’s certification that the shoes are medically necessary

Coverage and costs are set by Medicare and depend on your individual plan. We will verify exactly what applies to you.
